Hi Scott. It's Da. I've turned several people on to your allergy support capsules (I've bought lots of bottles on behalf of friends). My employer, Edith Seligson, now swears by them. Her massage therapist, Theo Kyrkostas, just called me to ask about them. I gave him your office number. You'll be hearing from his as he wants to recommend them to his clients. He asked me how to obtain them and I told him to call you. He's a great guy. Have a great holiday weekend!

January 2017

When I was 18 years old, I started college, started taking birth control pills, and started to experience more stress than I ever had in my life. I ended that semester with a perfect 4.0 GPA, but also with a debilitating case of what my doctor diagnosed as “mono.” My doctor prescribed an antibiotic for this virus, which cause me severe stomach pain and intestinal distress. Little did I know at the time, but this was to be the switch that turned autoimmunity on in my body and forever changed my life.

Months later, I was still extremely tired. I had blood work done and my doctor recommended that I start taking Synthroid.

A few months later, my joints started to hurt a lot. At 19 years old, I could not walk up and down the stairs. I could not handle walking long distances on campus to get to my classes. I had to get a handicap permit so I could continue to attend college. I could not open doors so my father had to install a different door handle on my bedroom door; my morning stiffness was so bad that I could not turn a regular door knob. I had x–rays done; they showed holes in my joints as a result of rheumatoid arthritis. The first doctor I saw just kept prescribing me prednisone over and over again. I decided to get another opinion. This doctor put my on NSAIDS. While this medication did decrease my inflammation and allow me to walk and open doors, it did not get to the root of the problem. Why was my body attacking itself? All of my specialists with all their years of training told me the same thing- there was no way to get my body to stop destroying itself. They told me to just keep taking my pills and stop questioning them.

But the autoimmune diseases just kept piling up. At age 23, I was diagnosed with Sjogren ’s syndrome. Next at age 27 came Celiac Disease. This one, however, came with a diet change and not another pill. After implementing a gluten free diet, I noticed a real change in my quality of life. I was able to stop taking my sulfasalazine and I felt like I had more energy than I had in 10 years. The RA became inactive. The dry eyes and dry mouth disappeared. I was feeling really great.

As I got older, I started to question what my doctors were telling me about my autoimmunity. If I was able to reverse 3 other autoimmune conditions, why could I not reverse Hashimoto’s Disease? During my research, I found out about functional medicine. After implementing the dietary and lifestyle  changes Dr. Banks prescribed, I brought my vitamin D levels up to the optimal range, my homocysteine levels dropped, my thyroid antibodies lowered substantially, my elevated liver levels returned to normal, the Epstein Barr virus became dormant in my body and my ANA screen went from positive to negative! My skin became clearer and most importantly, I started feeling better than I did as a teenager.

My autoimmune diseases caused me to adopt a healthier lifestyle. I think that I am healthier today than I would have been had I never developed severe symptoms. The horrible joint pain and debilitating fatigue were messages from my body, telling me that I needed to make a change. I am so glad that I found functional medicine and a practitioner that is helping me get to the root cause of my autoimmunity, instead of just giving me medicine to mask symptoms while my body continued to break down my organs.

Sincerely,

A.F.

Hey Doc!

I just wanted to let you know that the treatment you gave me yesterday was very fruitful. By the end of the day I had more than a 50% reduction in pain and was starting to get better muscle balance and range of motion. Slept well last night, got up and went to work without any belts or cane. It was no doubt a breakthrough. Healing seems to be in motion now.

So I am writing you this just let you know that I really appreciate your "going the extra mile" and using various modalities to relieve my pain. I feel a whole lot better now (not perfect but substantially better) and I simply want to affirm the healer.

So thanks again for your intervention.

all the best: john b.

Dr. Banks,

Once again, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart.  I’m “doing what needs to get done.”

One of the issues I am so excited about is the lack of a “yeast issue.”  This has been persistent for years now.

Needless to say, I am beyond grateful.  I am thrilled.

Much appreciation and deep respect.

Blessings and prayers.  I’m forever grateful.  [The yeast has yet to return.  Amazing.]

Marcia

Good morning Dr. Banks,

Per your recommendation, I have been gluten-free for 76 days and I wanted to share with you, the changes that I have seen in my psoriasis, which is the reason I came to you in the first place.  I am truly amazed and often find myself doing a double take in the mirror as I am still getting used to seeing "normal" skin, which I haven't seen in over 10 years! Not only has my skin improved, but I have seen a significant change in my weight and my overall physical and mental health. The transformation that I have seen, truly brings me to tears! I am proud to say that I am down 40 lbs since June 2013, 14 lbs of that, since March 2014, when I first came to see you and my weight-loss journey is not over yet.

I continue to take my supplements and look forward to living a healthier, gluten free life. Being gluten free has just become part of who I am. Depression is no longer and issue for me and I don't find myself feeling ashamed of my skin when in public. I am happier and more confident, which makes me a better person in all facets of my life.

I am so happy that our paths crossed and I can't thank you enough for your help.

With sincerest gratitude,

Kim Larkin
